Dr. Hilary Patzer’s number one goal is to support athletes in achieving their highest level of performance and athletic success. She is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her tools of the trade also include being a Level lll Fascial Stretch Specialist and certified in Cranial Sacral Therapy and Neurokinetic Therapy. She completed her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2018 in order to deepen her comprehension and mastery for her patients benefit. She received a second master’s degree in Health Coaching and Performance and 2021 and recently completed her certification in Sports Medicine Acupuncture. Hilary is driven by empowerment through, growth, health and movement. She currently serves as the Official Sports Acupuncturist for the Minnesota Vikings and treats professional, elite, college and high school athletes from various sports.

Hilary was a two-time NCAA Division 1 All American Nordic Ski Racer. She raced with the U.S. Ski Team for 3 years. As a competitive skier, Hilary over trained and acupuncture was the one thing that brought her back to a whole, healthy person and athlete. She continues to train and compete in ski races, marathons, and triathlons. She competed in the Ironman World Championship and the Boston Marathon. Her competitive experience provides her with unique understanding of what pushing the body to its limit means and how acupuncture can aid the athlete’s body.

I am a family practice medical professional with a rich multicultural and diverse background in healthcare. My medical journey began in Mexico, where I completed my initial training, and continued in Germany during my postgraduate studies. There, I gained hands-on experience. My own personal journey led me through burnout and health challenges, which compelled me to explore new approaches to health and recovery. This experience transformed my understanding of well-being and inspired me to uncover natural, alternative, and effective ways to heal, restore vitality, and regain my personal power. I discovered the transformative potential of integrating natural biological medical modalities into patient care. This sparked my passion for holistic medicine, leading me to pursue certifications in the U.S. in Anti-Aging Medicine, Medical Aesthetics, Natural Ayurvedic Medicine, and Functional Medicine. Today, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve balanced, fulfilling lives through personalized care. The first time I walked into a labor and delivery unit, I was a student nurse on September 11, 2001. That morning, as the live news coverage of the Twin Towers collapsing played in the background, I was also witnessing my first live birth. In the aftermath of 9/11, I found myself reflecting deeply. What was my purpose? Why, when so many others were not returning home from work, was I here? How could I make a difference? It was during those weeks that I realized my calling was to become a midwife.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Iowa in 2002 and went on to complete my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Kansas in 2005.  Since 2005, I have worked in various healthcare settings, including rural hospitals, urban clinics, community practices, private practices and large corporate healthcare settings. As I progressed in my career, my focus shifted away from pregnancy and childbirth, leading me to recognize the need for more providers dedicated to women beyond their childbearing years. Over the past decade, I have devoted myself to specializing in hormone replacement therapy for both men and women, sexual wellness for men and women, medical weight loss and health optimization with peptides. I’ve discovered that owning my own practice and serving as a clinic administrator has allowed me to make a significant impact on healthcare delivery. 

My passion for patients remains unwavering; I cherish the opportunity to create programs that care for both women and men and I feel honored to play a part in their life-changing health journey. I am dedicated to meeting individuals where they are and helping them reach the healthcare goals that matter most to them. Supporting patients in reaching their health, wellness, and weight loss goals in a compassionate environment brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones which includes my three amazing kids-two daughters and a son. I find joy in our multi-generational family dynamic. My mother is the cornerstone of our family and has profoundly influenced the woman, mother, and healthcare provider I am today. Together, we enjoy traveling, exploring all genres of music, taking occasional Harley rides, and cherishing the small moments that make life special.

Red light is thought to work by producing a biochemical effect in cells that strengthens the mitochondria. The mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell — it’s where the cell’s energy is created. The energy carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things is called ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

By increasing the function of the mitochondria using red light, a cell can make more ATP. With more energy, cells can function more efficiently, rejuvenate themselves, and repair damage, while also improving circulation and oxygenation. This spurs quick healing in skin and muscle tissue, reducing inflammation fast.

Essentially, because red light helps the mitochondria in muscular cells complete their respiration cycle more efficiently, it makes the muscles suffer less fatigue.
